1. Prepare the Space
Before we work our magic on your home, it’s important to set your house up for success. We love it when our customers:
- Vacuum the area: If possible, pre-vacuum the areas we will work on to get the most thorough cleaning possible.
- Move fragile items: We love your heirloom porcelain vase and floor plants as much as you do. Remove any breakables from the area before we arrive. We will also move your furniture or work around heavier items we cannot safely move ourselves.
- Secure your pets: Since we will prop open your doors while we’re cleaning, it’s important to put your pets somewhere secure. We don’t want Fido or Tiger running away by accident.
- Share your concerns: If you have any areas of concern like spots, spills, or odors, show them to our team.
- Prepare payment: Payment is due at the time of service. The Modteam accepts cash, checks, and all major credit cards.
2. Inject & Extract
Our residential carpet cleaning technicians inject our heated cleaning solution at high pressure into your carpet. The solution emulsifies dirt and oil into a liquid.
In the same motion, the technicians extract the spent cleaning solution with any dirt and send it back into the truck. This neutralizes soil and removes it from your home, leaving your carpets fresh and clean.
3. Dry and Enjoy!
It typically takes 8–10 hours for your carpet to dry, but in some instances, it can take up to 24 hours. Please leave protective blocks and tabs under furniture for at least 48 hours.
We recommend letting the carpet dry with fans and added air circulation. Avoid walking barefoot on a newly cleaned carpet—use clean, white socks or shoes instead. That way, you’ll be able to enjoy your freshly cleaned carpet even faster!

Yes! We encourage you to take advantage of our air duct cleaning services first. That way, our air duct crew won’t walk all over your freshly cleaned carpet. If you choose to schedule both services for the same day, our air duct crew will arrive in the morning and the carpet cleaning crew will arrive in the afternoon.
Like any company, Modernistic cannot guarantee that every spot will disappear during the cleaning process. Some can become permanent. Our technicians carry an arsenal of powerful spot removers to address even the toughest spots.
