Our 3-Step Air Duct Cleaning Process
1. Complete Inspection
Everything about our service is custom to your specific home’s needs. Our expert technicians will inspect your HVAC system and ductwork to identify any potential concerns and determine how to best approach the job.
2. Prepare Home for Cleaning
Watch the Modteam at work! Our crew will:
- Find and determine how to access all hot air vents and cold air returns
- Use proper safety measures to protect your home during the cleaning process
- Create an access panel in the trunk line of the furnace, creating easy access for all future cleanings
3. Remove Contaminants
Our NADCA-certified air duct team uses the most powerful and effective residential air duct cleaning method in the industry! Commonly known as the “push-pull” method, we use a large-diameter vacuum attached to the trunk line of your furnace to put the home under negative pressure, “pulling” debris out and into our truck. Then, we’ll use high-pressure air tools to loosen and “push” debris from the mouth of each register back toward the vacuum line.
Once we connect an 8-inch vacuum hose to your HVAC’s access panel, we’ll fire up the truck and let the cleaning begin! For any exposed ductwork, we’ll access ports to ensure a thorough cleaning, resealing with industry-approved caps. We’ll also clean the blower compartment before wrapping up the job.

How to Prepare for Air Duct Cleaning
Have you already scheduled an HVAC cleaning appointment with us? Follow the steps below to ensure a smooth visit:
- Provide parking: Have a spot for our crew to park in the driveway or on the street as close to the home as possible to maximize the power of our vacuum.
- Remove obstructions: Provide a clear path to your furnace.
- Remove breakables: We recommend temporarily removing knick-knacks and other breakables that may be near or on furniture that is blocking the vents. The crew will move the furniture, but it’s safer if the breakable items have been removed prior to our visit.
- Secure pets: Your door will need to be propped open slightly during cleaning, so it’s best to secure pets somewhere safe. (Don’t worry—in inclement weather, a door guard is used to minimize disruption to your house.)
- Prepare payment: Payment is due at the time of service. Our crew is happy to accept any major credit card, cash, or check!

NADCA recommends getting your air ducts inspected at least once a year and having them cleaned as needed. If you suffer from allergies, have pets, or have someone in your home who smokes indoors, you may need more frequent air vent cleanings.
The cost of air duct cleaning depends on the number of furnaces and hot air vents you have. We cover the first 10 on a single furnace. Expect to spend around $500—but keep an eye out for discounts! Additionally, all cold air returns are cleaned at no additional charge.
Costs also vary depending on whether you’d like to include dryer vent cleaning, air duct sanitization, and removal of critters or items from your ducts. (For a simple dryer vent cleaning only, expect to spend as little as $150!)
