1. Baking Soda: One of the simplest and most cost-effective ways to eliminate dog odor is to use baking soda. Sprinkle a quarter to half a cup of baking soda on your couch and let it sit for at least an hour before vacuuming it—the longer, the better.
2. White Vinegar: This is not only a great way to help urine stains but also aids in breaking down the uric acid in urine, helping lift stains from the couch fibers and carpeting. To apply, mix white vinegar & water in a 1:3 ratio. Step 1: Identify the stain and remove solids (if the stain is a dye, give Modernistic a call). Step 2: Using a white paper towel, blot up liquid until no further moisture transfers (Again, blot, do not rub or scrub). Step 3: Apply vinegar solution and blot the liquid with a white paper towel. Step 4: Repeat step 3 until the stain disappears. Keep in mind, not all upholstery can tolerate wet solutions. If unsure, call Modernistic and ask if this method can be used. 
3. Air out your furniture: Don't underestimate the power of fresh air in maintaining a pleasant scent. If needed, take your couch cushions outside to air them out. Let them soak in the sun for 1-2 hours before moving them into the shade to prevent fabric fading. Remember, this method is mainly preventative. By making it a regular practice, you can keep your couch smelling delightful and your home fresh.
