Water Emergency Drying Methods
Modernistic skillfully implements the science of drying your flooded Michigan property to ensure all salvageable materials and structural components are preserved during each (emergency water restoration) project. The expertise of our trained water restoration technicians in combination with industry leading detection and analysis equipment allow for swift and appropriate drying strategy.
Modernistic implements individual or combination drying techniques based on the unique needs of each water restoration case:
- Dehumidifiers
Modernistic employs two types of dehumidifiers: the desiccant dehumidifier and the Phoenix LGR (Low Grain Refrigerant) dehumidifier. The LGR variety is used in most (residential flood restoration). Low grain refrigerants work in tandem with air movers to evaporate moisture within the structure and collect the liquid into a reservoir, removing it from the affected area. - Desiccant Dehumidification
The desiccant dehumidification system uses special materials that absorb water vapor in the air of the water damaged property, rather than condense it. The newly dried air is then heated to approximately 15-20 degrees higher than when it was originally taken in. The nature of desiccant dehumidification systems allow very low relative humidity levels to be achieved, a crucial element of effective (water restoration and removal). Wet air is vented out of the structure as dry, heated air is pumped back inside. Flat ducting is utilized to move the dry air over the affected areas. - Air Movers
Large blowers, air movers, and dryers are used to control humidity and accelerate the drying process. Also known as “evaporators,” air movers function as an integral part of the drying process. Modernistic utilizes two types of air moving devices, Axial Fans and Air Movers. These pieces of equipment are generally placed every ten to fourteen linear feet within a (water damaged living space). Air movers generate air circulation, which promotes the evaporation of liquids from porous material such as carpet, pad, drywall, plaster, and wood. - Wall Ceiling and Floor Drying
Modernistic uses state-of-the-art high pressure drying systems from Injectidry specifically designed to target hidden moisture in walls, ceilings, coated surfaces, and flooring. This (water removal system) is used very effectively on real wood, engineered wood floors, and ceramic tile as well as watertight finishes like vinyl wall coverings and fire walls. Modernistic has a very high success rate of saving wood floors using this method and at a fraction of the cost of floor replacement. In addition, this process speeds up the (flood remediation), allowing for nearly immediate re-occupation of the water damaged property. - Heat Drying
When a water loss occurs in harsh weather conditions, the dry-down process can seem impossible. The RX Heat machine makes (low-temperature water restoration) efforts effective and immediate. This drying system produces clean, efficient, and reliable heat in situations that call for heat drying. It is ideal for use in water restoration projects that require rapid dry time or do not require careful preservation of sensitive building materials. Modernistic’s heat drying solution can produce (water removal) rates exceeding 400 lbs. per hour expediting the water removal process at your Michigan property.
H.E.P.A. Air Filters
HEPA air filtration systems work to restore air quality in the event of a flood. HEPA filters are used to remove bacteria and other airborne contaminants that have invaded the air within a (water-damaged property). It approaches total efficiency regarding removal of all known harmful organisms resulting from the water damage at your Michigan property. HEPA filters will begin to restore the air quality of your water damaged space back to safe levels immediately upon installation.
